Why is Countryside Pure more than a beautiful pastel-coloured paper?

Of course, Countryside Pure and its colours are not just pleasing to the eye. This design paper also impresses with its material properties. After all, what use is the most beautiful colour if printing or finishing processes do not deliver good results?

Countryside Pure offers excellent printing and finishing properties and is suitable for, amongst other things, laser printing, inkjet printing (although we always recommend testing it on your own printer first), offset printing, screen printing, flexographic printing and letterpress. This makes the paper ideal not only for creative one-off pieces, but also for professional printed materials and a wide range of stationery items.

It impresses across all colour variants with enhanced lightfastness and abrasion resistance, and is resistant to bleeding and colour migration. The surface of Countryside Pure is rough with a fine structure. It has a pleasantly firm and slightly matt feel. Both of these characteristics further enhance the natural look of this high-quality uncoated paper.

Countryside Pure is available in the following qualities:

• 120 g/m² paper in DIN A4 format
• 270 g/m² card in DIN A4 and DIN A3 formats

This allows you to work with different grammages within a single project – for example, for cards with inlays, promotional mailings with reply cards, customer letters with vouchers, or quotation and presentation folders with covers.

The other two varieties in the paper family – Countryside Natur and Countryside Mineral – offer even more combination options. Both impress with their natural look and sustainability, making them the perfect match for our new, pastel-coloured favourite.

Good to know: The material composition of Countryside Pure White Smooth differs slightly from the other colours. The surface is smoother and the card quality has a slightly lower grammage of 250 g/m². What makes this paper special is that, for a recycled paper, Countryside Pure White Smooth offers a very high whiteness of 145 CIE.

Is the paper suitable for high-quality printed materials?

With Countryside Pure, you can create high-quality, environmentally friendly printed materials. From business stationery, mailings, leaflets, brochures, catalogues and small packaging designs right through to invitations, greeting cards, food and menu cards, or comprehensive stationery concepts for weddings and other occasions: this paper brings stylish colour, a natural look, sustainability and, at the same time, a premium feel to a wide variety of print projects.

We have carried out various laser printing tests using Countryside Pure. Both colour and black-and-white print designs impressed with a clear, even print image featuring good opacity and precise contours. When applying colour over large areas, the reproduction is free from smudging. The print behaviour is good; the toner adheres cleanly to the surface without smudging.

Is Countryside Pure suitable for paper finishing?

We also tested our new toner-reactive Digital foils on Countryside Pure. These films allow print designs to be finished with metallic effects easily and without the need for an embossing machine. As the digital films adhere best to smooth papers, we chose the ‘White Smooth’ variant for our test. Although it is smoother than the other colour variants, it still has an open-pored surface, which has resulted in a few small irregularities. For the most part, however, the holographic gold film was transferred cleanly. If you use the other Countryside Pure colour shades for toner film finishes, mottled metallic effects will result; however, if you like, you can use these specifically as a vibrant design element.

By the way: If you have a hot foil stamping machine, you can also use our Foilco stamping foils to enhance your paper products. Hot stamping foils work particularly well with slightly structured papers such as Countryside Pure.

Which envelopes go well with Countryside Pure?

The Countryside Pure colours can be combined beautifully with various envelopes from the Papier Direkt range. Depending on whether you add light tones and shades of white or bold colours, you can create either understated or more colour-intensive combinations.

Here, we’ve combined Countryside Pure Sand Grey in a monochrome palette with Colorplan envelopes in Pale Grey and Slate, as well as Colorplan Extracted Envelopes Taupe. The Crush Cocoa envelopes go particularly well with the Almond Brown shade, but rich colours such as Colorplan Hot Pink, Marrs Green or Colorplan Extracted Retro Blue also work well.
