About Colorplan

Colorplan is a through-dyed fine paper that meets the highest standards in terms of quality and colour. The FSC® Mix certification proves that the raw materials used for production come from responsibly managed forests. Thanks to the combination of the highest quality cellulose fibres and pigmented dyes, the fine paper offers exceptionally high lightfastness and durability. In addition to the regular, slightly textured version called Colorplan Plain, the manufacturer also offers various surface embossings such as linen. Colorplan Plain has a unique haptic character. The matt surface is slightly rough with a fine texture, which gives the paper a very natural feel. The firm feel conveys a high degree of value.

Colorplan fine paper in 50 colours
The impressive Colorplan colour range consists of 50 colours and opens up almost limitless combination possibilities.

However, it is first and foremost a certain characteristic that makes Colorplan stand out in the world of paper: the variety of colours of the fine paper is legendary! The impressive range comprises a total of 50 colour shades, leaving almost nothing to be desired and offering the right nuances for every design idea in the print sector.

Our Colorplan range includes Colorplan Plain in two grammages: the 135 g/m² paper and the sturdy 270 g/m² cardboard. The paper sheets are available in DIN A4 format, the cardboard qualities in DIN A4 and DIN A3. We also offer Colorplan envelopes and cards – more on this later!

Colorplan Extracted 100 % recycled paper in 10 colours

By the way: with Colorplan Extracted, the renowned fine paper brand offers a sustainable alternative for environmentally conscious users. Colorplan Extracted is a coloured, 100 % recycled paper whose sustainability concept goes even further:
25 % of the fibres come from recycled disposable cardboard cups. It is available in a total of 10 striking colours. You can get matching Colorplan Extracted envelopes from us in six colours and four formats.

To give you an impression of Colorplan, we recommend our Colorplan testerpack. It allows you to check whether the material matches your ideas and requirements in terms of look and feel. To provide you with original samples of all colours, we produce a Colorplan mini book, which includes the complete Colorplan colour range and is also included in the sample pack.

Processing and finishing of Colorplan

Colorplan is suitable for a wide range of applications, from corporate design and packaging to stationery for a wide variety of occasions. You can print on the paper with all standard laser printers with very good results. However, we generally recommend that you always test it with your own device beforehand. Especially if you want to use the thicker cardboard, you should check whether your printer can process the 270 g/m² material. Preliminary tests are required for the use of Colorplan in inkjet printing. The fine paper shines in classic printing processes, such as offset printing and letterpress printing, and delivers the best printing results. It also performs particularly well in letterpress and screen printing.

However, you can not only print on Colorplan (and of course design it with a wide range of drawing and colouring materials), but also finish it in a variety of ways. Sophisticated foil stamping, such as hot foil stamping with hot stamping machines or embossing pens, works perfectly on Colorplan; the edge definition is excellent and thanks to the good paper volume, fine borders can also be worked out wonderfully. You can also embellish the cardboard qualities with embossing. Both blind embossings with a subtle effect and colour embossings, which further enhance the effect, work well.
